Who We Are – Dali Suites, Playas de Tijuana

Dali Suites isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a place with a story. It all began in 1974, when my dad came to Tijuana in search of opportunities. Every time he visited, he noticed something missing: there were no comfortable, fully equipped places for people who needed to stay for weeks or months. The only options were cheap hotels or those in the red-light zone. Neither offered the peaceful, home-like environment that long-term guests deserved.

So, he decided to create something different, a place for people like him who came to Tijuana to start a new chapter, work on a project, or build a home while needing a safe, welcoming space to settle in.

Over the years, Dali Suites has grown into a family-run property known for its peaceful garden, private balconies, and friendly staff who treat guests like part of the family. In many ways, they are.

Our team isn’t just staff; they’re part of the Dali story: Mago and Nico have been with us for 18 years. José Luis (“Chalino”), our maintenance expert, has been here for 30 years. Our gardener has cared for our lawns for 25 years. Rosy and Adilene are our newest team members, but in a short time, we’ve built a strong bond, and they’ve become an essential part of the Dali Suites family.

And then there’s my nana. She’s not part of the hotel staff and never comes to the property, but from her home, she takes care of the team in her own way. She sends treats, thoughtful gestures, and a motherly warmth that lifts everyone’s spirits.

These aren’t just names and years; they’re the heart of Dali Suites. They’re the smiles that greet you in the morning, the hands that keep the garden beautiful, and the people who make sure everything feels just right during your stay.

What makes us different? Our garden, a rare, tranquil green space in Playas, and the warmth of a team that truly cares.

Looking ahead, we’re exploring new ways to make Dali Suites even better: maybe a vegetable patch, a room for alternative healing therapies like sound healing, or a dedicated pet-friendly area to welcome more travelers with dogs. Whatever we choose, it will be with the same goal we’ve had since 1974: to offer a peaceful place that feels like home.
